Snacking Matters

Kids love snacks, who doesn’t? And they can be a really helpful way to provide extra energy for active minds and growing bodies. The problem is that most shop bought snacks are high in fat, sugar and salt (and lack fibre and micronutrients that support our health).

Our Mission

Attack the Snack was launched to get more children eating fruit and veg snacks, more often.

In 2025, the campaign focused on one of the hardest food habits to shift: snacking. It began over the summer, promoting simple, on-the-go fruit and veg snacks for families, then moved into schools from September with practical classroom activities and take-home resources designed to be used all year round.

Over four months, Veg Power’s ambassador chefs and nutritionists shared easy, inspiring ideas across social media, supported by trusted expert advice to help parents make small, realistic changes – without stress or food battles.

Our mission now is to build on this momentum, working with schools and partners to make fruit and veg the easy, everyday snack choice for children, at home and beyond.

Thanks to our partners in 2025 for backing Attack the Snack and showing the amazing power of collaboration. By working together, we achieved far more than any single organisation in fresh produce could alone.

We’re ready to go further in 2026 – reaching more schools, engaging more families, and making healthy snacking the easy choice.
