Sometimes you can't beat a classic, and these mushy peas are a wonderful side to any main meal, not just battered fish!
Bring a saucepan of water to the boil, then add the peas and a pinch of salt. Boil for 3-4 minutes, until the peas are cooked (they will have bobbed up to the surface). Drain and blitz in a food processor or with a hand-held blender with the cream and butter. Season with salt & pepper and serve with your main.
